St Martin’s Builds on Success
Those coming to St Martin’s in early 2011 will notice some building work taking place. Not only has the church been successful in securing an English Heritage/Heritage Lottery Fund grant to carry out urgent repairs to the medieval church but we have also secured a grant to bring our toilets into the 21st Century.
In February work will begin to make our male and female toilets compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act. This is due to a marvellous grant of £10,000 from the Big Lottery ‘Awards for All’ scheme. The present design and decoration of the toilets dates back to 1972 when the community rooms and new church were added onto the medieval building. By late spring this year St Martin’s will have two new, fully equipped, unisex toilets which will be accessible to all. This is great for all those visiting the church or making use of our recently refurbished community rooms.
